Mission
Leicester Fair
Employment Initiative (LFEI), is a partnership project of private, public
and voluntary sector organisations which aims to increase the quality and
quantity of ethnic minority participation in the workforce. This project
has come about as a result of racial equality work in major organisations
in the City of Leicester. This is a city where nearly one third of the
population comprises of ethnic minority communities. By working towards
and environment free from discrimination, employers will ensure that they
will result in increased business opportunities for companies as they then
have staff and management who are able to relate to the whole community.
The purpose of
LFEI is to:
-
Encourage companies
to take up the challenge and set the programmes and goals necessary for
improvement.
-
Foster close working
relationships with employers from the private, public and voluntary sectors
who encourage co-operation and commitment of the mission.
-
Agree realistic
targets and seek to achieve these through positive action to redress the
current imbalance of ethnic minority representation within the City and
County of Leicester.
-
Offer training,
guidance and advice to ensure the achievement of agreed targets and goals.
Be proud of
our aims and promote our mission with major employers within the City and
County of Leicester.
